Visual Aesthetics and ‘Technical Accessibility’ – A Formative Study:

As a preliminary step, we investigated the relationship between visual aesthetics and Web accessibility from a technical perspective. In other words, automated accessibility evaluation was the method used for the accessibility part of our study. We investigated thirty Web pages that had previously been rated on various aspects of their visual appearance in a study conducted by Michailidou et al. (2008), for accessibility conformance. Our initial results indicate that there is a link between visual aesthetics and accessibility which should be further investigated.
