I started my BSc in Computer Science in 2001 at the Victoria University of Manchester (before it merged with UMIST) where I met my future husband Michael (in a Java lecture if I recall). After graduating in 2005, I continued with an MSc in Advanced Computer Science in the newly merged University of Manchester. My supervisor for my MSc Project was Dr Robert Stevens and I had Dr Simon Harper as an advisor/secondary supervisor. I started my PhD in 2006 with Dr Harper as my supervisor and Dr Stevens as my advisor and I joined the Information Management Group. I am now in my second year as a PhD student studying Web Accessibility with respect to Web 2.0. The title of my research is Identification and Classification of Dynamically Updating Design Patterns and I am currently running user evaluation experiments that try and determine how users interact with Web 2.0 websites.
